In August 2024, Kevin surprised Rosalie with a night away at her favorite place, Stone House Inn in Little Compton, Rhode Island. The historic seaside inn is located down the street from the Sakonnet beach house where Rosalie’s family used to vacation for the famous annual “Dineen Weekend” with her parents, sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Sakonnet beach and farm town holds many happy childhood memories for Rosalie. Rosalie first brought Kevin to Sakonnet in July 2019 where they stayed at Stone House Inn and visited Sakonnet Vineyard to celebrate their 24th birthdays together. Since then, Rosalie and Kevin have made many summer day trips to Sakonnet through the years to enjoy beach days and wine tastings at Sakonnet Vineyard. On the morning of August 24th, 2024 after a night at Stone House Inn, Kevin brought Rosalie to Sakonnet Vineyard where he arranged a private vineyard tour and tasting. While on their private tour of the vineyard, the golf cart made a stop at a beautiful spot that overlooks a reservoir and acres of grape vines. Kevin proposed in a quiet and private moment. The engagement ring was custom-made with Rosalie’s Nina’s diamond, which made the moment even more special. Kevin hired a photographer to wait for them at the lookout spot, and hide behind a hay bale to keep it a surprise. Once they returned to the winery area, Rosalie and Kevin’s families were both waiting there to celebrate. To add to the surprises, when Rosalie, Kevin, and their families returned to the Dineen house after a day at the vineyard, all of Rosalie’s closest friends and family were there waiting to celebrate. The perfect surprise to end the most beautiful and love-filled Rhode Island weekend.

Our Proposal Story

Steeped in history and character, the Omni Parker House is one of the most iconic spots in the city of Boston. It’s also one of the most haunted. Founded in 1855, the Omni Parker House is the oldest of Boston’s inns and the longest continuously operating hotel in the United States. The current hotel structure dates to 1927. The hotel is located along Boston’s beloved Freedom Trail. Historical fun facts:-The Parker House invented the Boston Cream Pie, the Parker House Roll, and coined the word “scrod”-JFK announced his bid for Congress at the Parker House in 1946-JFK proposed to Jackie Bouvier at Table 40 in Parker’s Restaurant in 1953-JFK hosted his bachelor party in The Press Room (our ceremony room) in 1953-Charles Dickens lived in a room at The Parker House for 5 months while he wrote “A Christmas Carol”-Charles Dickens’ mirror can be found hanging outside of The Press Room and is said to be haunted by the ghost of him-John Wilkes Booth stayed at the hotel 8 days before assassinating Abraham Lincoln. He was seen practicing at a firing range near The Parker House-Emeril Lagasse, Malcolm X, and Ho Chi Minh were all kitchen and wait staff at Parker’s Restaurant-Writers and poets including Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, and Longfellow met for conversation in the Parker House as the legendary 19th century “Saturday Club”-Charles Dickens first recited and performed “A Christmas Carol” for The Saturday Club in 1867-Baseball legends like Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and David Ortiz are all known to have wined at dined at the Parker House-24 US Presidents have stayed at the hotel
