Rosie and Clay met in the 10th grade, but while they were friends, they had no feelings for each other.

After college, they reunited on September 29, 2021, with some other high school friends. They hit it off right away, chatting and catching up. During the evening, Clay mentioned that he had thoughts of dying his hair. Rosie noted she lived near a 24-hour CVS. The group decided to split up: the boys to grab a few bottles of wine and the girls to grab some bleach and hair dye.

The idea of dying Clay's hair was quickly forgotten after getting back to Rosie's house, splitting a few bottles of wine, and falling into deep conversation. (This is good because Rosie has never dyed anyone's hair, and Clay loves his hair. She is sure, in hindsight, she would have messed it up, and he would have never forgiven her.)

The group hung out for over 10 hours, and everyone went home around 6 am.

The next day, after some pushing from Caity, Rosie texted Clay and suggested they should all hang out again. The conversation turned, and Rosie attempted to flirt. Luckily, Clay took the hint and ran with it, as Rosie is notoriously bad at flirting.

The hair dye is still in Rosie's bathroom closet. In hindsight, they were both using dying Clay's hair as an excuse to continue the night.
