The&nbsp;Old Bethpage Village Restoration&nbsp;is a 209-acre (0.85&nbsp;km2) recreated&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Living_museum" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">living museum</a>&nbsp;village in&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Bethpage,_New_York" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Old Bethpage, New York</a>.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Bethpage_Village_Restoration#cite_note-obvr-1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[1]</a>&nbsp;The village opened in 1970 with dozens of historic structures that had been saved from demolition by&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nassau_County,_New_York" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Nassau County</a>.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Bethpage_Village_Restoration#cite_note-nyt2002-2" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[2]</a>&nbsp;Costumed actors provide demonstrations of 19th-century life. It is the site of the annual Long Island Fair.

The&nbsp;Cradle of Aviation Museum&nbsp;is an&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerospace_museum" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">aerospace museum</a>&nbsp;located in&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniondale,_New_York" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Uniondale, New York</a>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Long Island</a>, established to commemorate Long Island's part in the history of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviation" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">aviation</a>. It is located on land once part of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitchel_Air_Force_Base" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Mitchel Air Force Base</a>&nbsp;which, together with nearby&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roosevelt_Field" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Roosevelt Field</a>&nbsp;and other airfields on the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hempstead_Plains" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hempstead Plains</a>, was the site of many historic flights. So many seminal flights had occurred in the area that, by the mid-1920s, the cluster of airfields was already dubbed the "Cradle of Aviation",<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cradle_of_Aviation_Museum#cite_note-1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[1]</a>&nbsp;the origin of the museum's name.

Huntington Main Street is one of Rosie and Evan's favorite town's to visit. They have great shops (Escape Pod Comics, The Next Chapter Bookstore) and some of our favorite restaurants (Besito Mexican, MB Ramen).

One of our favorite places to go for a hike! Paved paths, historic buildings, and a stellar view of the Long Island Sound.

Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve

Our go-to spot for a walk or hike (which is an ongoing subject of debate). A lap around the lake or a walk south on the dirt path to Southards Pond Park. Count how many dogs you see!

Belmont Lake State Park

Another of our go-to hiking spots. Visit Jayne's Hill, Long Island's highest point of elevation at a towering 400.9' above sea level. Our very own Mt. Everest.
