Our Story
August 25, 2017
Our first visit to the San Diego Zoo, just before Rosie had to head back to St. Olaf for her senior year of college
October 14, 2017
Fall Break at St. Olaf! Nate came to visit Minnesota for the first time. Pictured here is also Rosie's "BOOKS" pin she always wore on her jacket. Nate loving referred to it as her "SKOOB" pin since it was always backwards in pictures.
December 25, 2017
Our first Christmas together! Rosie came home to Escondido
March 28, 2018
Nate bought a car just in time to go on our first road trip together to Joshua Tree during Rosie's Spring Break. We camped in BLM land around JTNP and drove into the park to hike during the day. One of the first places we camped had patches of soft sand we thought would be great to set the tent up on, so we drove the car up close, but quickly discovered tires easily get stuck in such terrain! Nate dug the wheels out with a pot and we were able to free the car. After that, we lovingly named the 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring Edition: "Trooper"! And what a trooper he was, for many years.
July 21, 2018
Our first trip to the Wild Animal Park together. We of course had to get the iconic rhino photo before we left.
February 21, 2019
We moved into our first home together! Rosie's mom dutifully gifted us our first roll of toilet paper.
April 05, 2019
Death Valley with Rosie's family + Grammie + Hubble & Kepler
October 01, 2019
Rosie's first time to Bates Nut Farm. We did not buy these giant pumpkins, but they were fun to take pictures with!
October 31, 2019
Our first Halloween together in our own place seemed like it would be so exciting--getting dressed up, decorating, and giving out candy to all the trick-or-treaters... Alas, we had but FIVE trick-or-treaters--and one of them was a repeat!
December 25, 2019
With the permission of Rosie's parents, we chopped down a small tree from the Nanz's lot on Palomar to use as our first ever Christmas tree together. The tree was short and stout and we loved him!
February 22, 2020
Auggie & Sheila's wedding!
June 05, 2020
Hiking trip with friend, Jeff Albergo
July 31, 2020
Nate's parents took the us on a weekend getaway to Catalina Island on their boat, "Never Had a Better Day". This was Rosie's first time to Catalina and she of course had to get her Wiki Wacked at Luau Larry's

Cutting our second Christmas tree down at the Nanz family lot on Palomar
May 21, 2022
After much encouragement (i.e. begging), Rosie's dad finally got us to go skiing with him at Mammoth Mountain. This was the beginning of our love for the snow sport.
December 17, 2022
We got IKON ski passes for the next season. Here we are at June Mountain, a ski resort close to Mammoth which is much less crowded on Saturdays. With easier slopes and shorter lift lines, this is where we really got comfortable with skiing.
December 25, 2022
This year Rosie bought a faux Christmas tree. Looks pretty good for a fake, right?!
February 11, 2023
Another ski trip--this time with brother, Auggie Nanz, and sister-in-law, Sheila Lo.
March 19, 2023
This was a heavy snow season at Mammoth. In the condo's parking lot, the snow piled up above our heads!
April 23, 2023
Yet another ski trip. As you can see, we are dedicated now!
December 25, 2023
We moved in with our good friend, Corbin Sobrito, this Fall. Rosie had fun decorating the new apartment for Christmas. Nate and Rosie held Corbin's dog, Luna, for a Christmas photo
January 28, 2024
Back on the slopes after the holidays. Rosie got into crocheting this month, so we are now donning handmade beanies.
March 09, 2024
Another ski trip with Rosie's dad, brother, and sister-in-law. We finally got new helmets and goggles, too.
April 20, 2024
Our last ski trip of the 2023-24 season. Near the end of the day, Nate suggested we peel off from the group to find a spot with a nice view to take a breather. We found a nice wide run with very little traffic, with a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. We skied over to the far edge of the run, popped off our skis, and sat down for a spell. Little did Rosie know, this was the moment that we were going to get ENGAGED!!!

After a few minutes of chatting, Nate repositioned himself in front of Rosie, pulled out a ring, and asked her to marry him. Rosie of course said yes, and the rest is history!
