Our Wedding

The third time's a charm! As you know we have had to postpone our celebrations several times now due to the pandemic. While we officially tied the knot last year in a small ceremony at home in Wimbledon we are very much looking forward to having this big celebration with all of our friends. We really appreciate all of your effort in changing flights and plans to be able to join us in France.

Our Story

The Venue

About the Chateau

The château was built by the Montpezat family in the early 16th century (circa 1520) before the sketch
of Chambord was even drawn, proof of the modernity of the Toulouse region in those days (on the
road to St Jacques of Compostelle). A full renovation of the castle was undertaken from 1998 to 2001.The château is surrounded by numerous farms which were built during the second half of the 19th
century, when the Prince of Berghes married the daughter of the new owner and ordered a full
renovation / restructuring of the property. His architect was a fellow of Viollet le Duc, who transformed
Carcassonne and Toulouse’s St Sernin cathedral.&nbsp;

The road that goes to the end of the property follows the tracks of an ancient Via Romana (going from
Toulouse to the Basque region / Spanish border). The remains of an ancient roman bridge can still be
seen near the railway bridge over the Garonne river.&nbsp;

Culture 

Recommendations from the Chateau owner:The&nbsp;region is well known for duck, wine and Armagnac. You can drive through the&nbsp;Gers, which is really a beautiful region, and stop by at local producers to see what’s “cooking.”I recommend visiting Madiran (great wine region) / Mirande / Auch / Vic Fezensac / Eauze as part of a
day tour of the Gers. In that case, stop at Lannepax (close to Vic Fezensac) and say hello to the Delord,
my “gascon cousins” who have been producing armagnac since the 19th century. Perhaps they can
show you around the “chai” if they have time and... you will enjoy a fantastic meal at L’Hostellerie
