WALKS AND BEACHES -
YNYS LOCHTYN
Walk to the sea high on the cliff top plateau of Ynys Lochtyn. A moderately easy walk with great views and big cliffs.
Walk time - 1-2 hours
Drive from Fforest - 30 mins
Start - At the back of Llangrannog beach and go right up the cliff path, follow it all the way along and head down onto the spit.
Notes - Fish and chips at the Beach Hut when you get back to Llangrannog.
FFOREST COAST TO LLANGRANNOG VIA THE SECRET BEACH
Spectacular coastal walk, with one of the most beautiful secluded beaches we know, Traeth Bach, usually known as the secret beach, at mid point (seen at low tide). Difficult scramble down, but worth it.
Walk time - 1 hour each way
Drive from - Fforest 25 mins
Start - Penbryn car park, head towards beach, then footpath past farmyard immediately on the right up to the hills.
Notes - great cafe, The Plwmp Tart, in Penbryn carpark.
THE WITCHES CAULDRON
Spectacular high level walk with sheer drops and fascinating rock formations. the witches cauldron at the end of the walk is a towering collapsed cavern into which you can swim or canoe (both easily). Favourite spot for seals. Take care with young children.
Walk time - 1-2 hours
Drive from - Fforest 20 mins
Start - from Ceibwr beach and from there head west on the coast path.
Notes - favourite spot for seals. Penrallt Garden Centre has a great cafe & play area for kids.
THE WATERFALL WALK
Remote beautiful walk following the route of Afon Soden down through the wooded valley of to the a little stony cove on the sea. Return over hill tracks via the farmstead of Pen y Graig, then by road back to St, Tysilio.
Walk time -2-3 hours
Drive from - Fforest 30 mins
Start - St Tysilios church.
Notes - extend the walk a little west and take in the remains of iron age settlement at Castell Bach.
THE WILDLIFE BOARD WALK
The wildlife boardwalk (otter trail) is really an adjunct to the Fforest gorge walk, out through the reed beds, great walk and fantastic jogging route from Fforest or Cardigan.

Drive from - Fforest 2 mins
Start - At the Wildlife reserve car park.
Notes - make a day of it at the wildlife reserve or enjoy lunch/coffee in the Glasshouse Cafe.
THE FFOREST WOODLANDS
Walk the signposted woodland paths from fforest farm to the Wildlife Centre and along the river. Silence, birdsong, wildlife. Beautiful at any time of year.

Notes - Ask at fforest about where to find the secret quarry tunnel.
MWNT BEACH
Visiting Mwnt's tiny secluded beach and climbing Mwnt is a highlight for many with spectacular views all around.
The sunsets here are spectacular and it’s a great place to spot dolphins.
Walk time - 30mins
Drive from - Fforest 15 mins
Start -at the national trust car park. From there head straight up the hill or bear right and walk around the lower path for frequent views of seals and dolphins.
Notes - The sunset view from the top of Mwnt is something not to be missed.
POPPIT SANDS BEACH
Huge sandy beach and tidal estuary. Excellent beach cafe.
CEIBWR BAY
Gorgeous pebbled cove.
NEWPORT BEACH
A huge sandy beach and sand dunes. Great for kids and excellent ice cream shop.
CWM YR EGLWYS
Small sandy beach on Dinas Head.
Other Beautiful Beaches for Strolls - Aberporth, Tresaith & Penbryn.
ACTIVITIES-
BAY TO REMEMBER
The beautiful West Wales coast is famous for its marine life. Bay To Remember boat trips depart all year round (limited winter sailings) and last from 1 - 2 hours in length, exploring the amazing coastline and abundant wildlife found in Cardigan Bay. This is the perfect opportunity to see Bottlenose Dolphins and Harbour Porpoise, Grey Seals and a wide variety of birds, as well as watching our beautiful coastline from the perfect vantage point.
