September is a very busy time in our little corner of Connecticut. We encourage you to book rooms as soon as possible. Most have very flexible cancelation policies. The Kent Collection and The Fife have room blocks in place so make sure you mention Garrity/Wilson Wedding. You will need to call the hotels directly in order to book rooms. There are four properties - all centrally located and walking to everything. The FireFly Inn, The Cottages: including an old Caboose, Cottage and a Bunk House ( sleeping 4-8). Rates range from $300-750 night

Located in the village, above a cool shop. They have a 5 day minimum so if you are going to stay in out neck of the woods for a few days this is a nice option. Bulls Bridge, Macedonia State Park, Kent Falls, Kent Land Trust, Numeral Rock, St John Ledges, Cobble Rd.... lace up your hiking boots!

Hiking

Bulls Bridge is one of the few functional covered bridges remaining in Connecticut. Built in 1842, the bridge was one of the few ways to cross the Housatonic River from New York state, and was intended to bring more traffic into the area. The covered bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. In addition to the scenic wooden bridge, the area features waterfalls, rapids, overviews, a small gorge, and hiking trails.

Easy road stroll, beautiful pasture views. 1 1/2 miles from the village

Macedonia Brook State Park

&nbsp;Eric Sloane (1905-1985) is best known for his idyllic landscapes, which often feature New England architecture and expansive skies.&nbsp;Sloane wrote and illustrated many books on Colonial tools, architecture, farming techniques, folklore, and rural wisdom. Each book included detailed illustrations, hand-lettering, and his characteristic folksy wit. Sloane’s fascination with weather led to commissions from the U.S. Air Force, as well as illustrated works on meteorology and weather forecasting.&nbsp;Sloane himself arranged and labeled the museum collection, telling a fascinating story about bygone times and the great American heritage of craftsmanship.&nbsp;The building itself was donated to the State of Connecticut in 1969 by Stanley Works, the Connecticut-based tool manufacturing compan

Eric Sloane Museum

The museum preserves historic machinery, and has a number of exhibits on industrial technology such as internal combustion engines, steam engines, agriculture, and logging.Their annual event happens to be 9/28 &amp; 9/29... fun to walk around and see the antique machines and get a ride o a steam engine! 1 mile north of the village
