Roxanne and Richard met at Maggiano’s in the Galleria area in late summer 2022.
The reason that Roxanne and Richard met at Maggiano’s is because that is where “The Texas Probate Law American Inn of Court” holds its monthly meetings. In summer 2022, Roxanne was the social chair for the Inn and Richard was a newly-admitted member to this Inn of Court. Richard recalls fondly how during his first encounter with Roxanne, she was professional, kind, gracious, and did a wonderful job representing the Inn by treating all the members – old and new – with warmth, kindness, and a sincere welcoming attitude. Since that day, Richard often finds himself thinking about his first encounter with Roxanne.
“Two short years” after their initial meeting at Maggiano’s, Roxanne and Richard started an earnest courtship. In 2024, a couple of things happened that turned their friendship into something more. One, Roxanne’s handsome little dog, Charlie, had “a procedure” and this procedure required Roxanne to throw a party. Roxanne invited Richard to Charlie’s party and he happily attended. Two, Roxanne asked Richard to take a look at a couple of things for her relating to trial matters. Three, Roxanne lost power at her house during a storm, and Richard rescued her by providing her with bottles of water and a meal at Tiny’s No. 5. (Since that day, Richard has encouraged Roxanne to drink lots of water and to always stay hydrated.)
In the early fall, Richard invited Roxanne to the Mediterranean Festival, which happened to take place at his family’s Church. Unbeknownst to Roxanne, at the festival she would meet Richard’s aunt, cousins, nephews, and many other family members. Roxanne was not expecting to meet so many of Richard’s relatives right after they started earnestly dating, but it was an enjoyable experience. Roxanne has further enjoyed meeting and getting to know Richard’s immediate and extended family members. Then there was the Sip and Sparkle Zoo Lights event in the fall. Although the wine portions were small (too small), Richard and Roxanne spent hours walking all over the Houston zoo, visiting with friends, and looking at all the beautiful lights. The Sip and Sparkle at the Zoo was capped off with a visit to Velvet Taco. That made Richard
happy.
Holiday season 2024 was a wonderful time for Roxanne and Richard, though nowhere near cold enough for Richard. January 2025 brought a pleasant surprise with a snow day that Roxanne and Richard shared. Roxanne, Richard, and Charlie (the dog) spent the snow day in the safety of Richard’s home in Fort Bend County because the electrical power supply at Roxanne’s Galleria-area home is reliably unreliable. Charlie also got to visit a really nice HEB in Fort Bend County on the snow day, which he enjoyed immensely.
Roxanne and Richard will wed in Florida this October. It’s Richard’s responsibility to plan the honeymoon activities, and he will likely wait until the last minute to solidify
plans. Despite the frustrations that come from Richard’s lack of planning, Roxanne and Richard have good reason to believe that they will live happily ever after.
