At the end of 2018 and beginning of 2019, our friend group was talking about who we would take to the school ball. Ruby and another friend decided that Declan was the only boy that they would want to take. Sorry boys!

Over the next few weeks they jokingly tried to convince Declan who to take to the ball. However, unexpectedly, Ruby and Declan grew really close over this and on February 23rd 2019 we decided to start dating… in secret! We were not suppose to be dating in high school so if our parents ask we were just best friends haha!

If you are wondering… we did end up going to the ball together, we actually went to 4!

The Proposal

September 16th 2023.

We were visiting the tulip festival at the Araluen Botanic Park.

When we started our walk to the rose garden area we went past a beautiful and lovely smelling pink camellia tree where Declan decided to get down on one knee and ask

“Ruby will you marry me?”

“Yes!! Yes Declan I will marry you!”
