Our Wedding

Our story began when Hannah&nbsp;was an occupational therapy student. On the final day of her clinical at Maine Medical Center, she observed a Total Knee Replacement Surgery. During the surgery, she connected with the Medical Device Rep (Russ) as we stood together away from the table. We spoke about golf (shocking, we know) and Russ spoke about the surgery and the techniques the surgeon was using. We spent an hour and a half together without ever knowing it was each other as we were wearing masks and hair protection. Leaving the surgery, Hannah thought to herself “he was nice” and Russ thought “I wonder if I will ever see that person ever again”. Hannah distinctly remembers going on a girl’s trip with her mom and sister and talking to them about this guy she met in the surgery. She said to her sister, “I won’t see him ever again”. Well, little did she know. Fast forward two years later, we matched on an online dating app and&nbsp;went on our first date, almost two years to the day that we met in person the first time. Of course, it was golf related, playing nine holes at Nonesuch River Golf Club. Russ later shared that he knew there was going to be a second date right away after he saw Hannah swing her driver. We had a great time together but more importantly Russ wanted a rematch of another nine holes as he suffered the first loss of the season. To nobody’s surprise, our next date was also a golf date.After several dates of playing golf, cooking together and of course getting the dogs’, Miss Pebs’s and Miss Molly’s, approval, at Maine Craft Distilling, Russ asked Hannah to be his girlfriend and of course, she said yes. We both knew pretty early on that we loved each other. We are each other’s best friend and truly enjoy spending time together, playing golf, paddle tennis, pickleball and skiing. On October 19th, 2024, we went out for an afternoon round of golf. Hannah was unable to play as she had injured her foot in the beginning of September. Little did she know that our lives were about to change in the best way. She could sense that Russ was a little nervous about something but she couldn’t figure out why. As we approached the 18th green, Hannah noticed the flag stick was leaning over. When she went to fix it, Russ called her over to read his putt as he didn’t want her to see what was in the hole. After assisting with the reading of the putt, she went to fix the flag stick, where she noticed the ring box in the hole. Russ got down on one knee and said “I want this to be the last round with you as my girlfriend, Will you marry me?”. She immediately said yes. Little did she know, her family and Russ’s family were watching the engagement from the pro-shop. It was the perfect evening surrounded by our families. Now here we are, preparing to be wed and celebrate our love with everyone. We cannot wait for September and we thank everyone for being a part of our journey.Love,Russ and Hannah&nbsp;
