In 2017 they both swiped right, and... it was a match! They had their first date halfway between Boulder and Denver at Chuy's Mexican Restaurant, saw the movie Murder On The Orient Express, and found out at the end of the date they both drove a Ford.
Their second date Tim chose the restaurant Racine's in Denver (which happened to be Ruthie's favorite place to eat in Denver, but he didn't know that), where they sat and ate and found out they shared a love for movies, tv shows, and most things that Colorado has to offer. Ruthie believed Tim's choice in restaurants was a sign he might be a keeper.
Their third date was on New Years Eve, where they chose to have an early night at the Denver Aquarium, which ended up being completely empty and they had the whole place to themselves. It was like something straight out of a movie! They talked and laughed all night about their love of sharks, the movie Dazed and Confused, and the close relationships they both have with their families. They also discovered that their birthdays are only 7 days apart. They got dinner and shared their first kiss in the parking lot. It was the beginning of something very special.
Over the next few months they grew closer and started traveling together. While on their first trip to Estes Park they confessed their love for one another in a quiet mountain getaway after getting back from the ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel.
For the next two years they would talk on the phone multiple times a day and drive back and forth between Denver and Boulder, trading weekends at each others apartments before moving in together in Tim's apartment in the city when Ruthie got a job working for the State.
When COVID shut everything down they both started working from home and soon realized they needed a bigger place, so they moved to Thornton with their cat George.
In March of 2023 Tim planned a romantic weekend away in the mountains, keeping the destination a secret from Ruthie. When they arrived and got out of the car at Hot Sulfur Springs resort it didn't smell the greatest, but it was the perfect spot for a romantic weekend in the mountains. After spending all day in the hot spring pools Tim suggested they go for a walk in the moonlight after the snow had stopped falling. It was on this walk that he got down on one knee and asked Ruthie to marry him. With tears streaming down her face, she said yes!
Now, they are excited to invite you to celebrate the love they have for each other on their special day.
