In a galaxy not so far away, Shane and Ruth matched on a popular dating app on May 16th 2020.

The conversation caught each other's attention from the very beginning, and they knew that this was something worth exploring. May 31st 2020 they met for the first time and life would never be the same, just like when Frodo found out about the One Ring.

They spent the day at Morro Bay, where Ruth told him never to propose, and then explored a local park. By the end of the day Ruth knew that she had someone "precioussss", the true gentleman that she had always hoped to find.

With Shane in Atascadero, and Ruth in Bakersfield, the question became how they could make this work. The couple decided to do weekly date nights in Lost Hills so that they could see each other and continue to grow their relationship during the week.

On June 3rd 2020, during a hot day the two met for a date night at Denny's (where the couple was interrupted multiple times!), and Shane asked Ruth to be his girlfriend.

As the couple continued to grow, Shane and Ruth found that they shared core values and desired a lot of the same things in life, like the future raised ceiling for her house.

Deciding that they wanted to fully explore where this could end up, the couple found a premarital book and used their weekly date nights to grow in God, and with each other.

By the time the book was finished Ruth and Shane knew that sitting before them was the person they were meant to spend forever and ever and ever with.

The week after the book was completed Shane asked Ruth to be his bride. July 28th 2020 the couple officially said yes to sharing their lives with one another in maawaige.

Ruth and Shane are excited to share this day with their children, their family, and their close friends.
