You know that feeling when paths keep crossing, and all roads seem to lead to the same magical place? Well, that's the beautiful story of Ruvimbo and Kupakwashe.

Kupakwashe strolled up to Ruvimbo after spotting her on a bus they both happened to be on. As newcomers to Australia, seeing a familiar face, especially a fellow African and Zimbabwean, was like finding a treasure. They bonded over their experiences abroad, sharing stories of their lively childhoods. From being high achievers to funny coincidences of being in the same places back home, it felt like they had led parallel lives that finally intersected in a foreign land.

Remembering a shared childhood experience at a Shingisai Suluma concert in Harare, the odds of not meeting then but recalling the memory years later in Sydney seemed unlikely – but that's the magic of their story.

Their connection grew over shared loves for food, active lifestyles, and deep family bonds. Whether indulging in fancy dinners or grabbing street eats, engaging in one-on-one basketball or spotting each other at the gym. They have now seamlessly blended their interests into shared passions. You can now call Ruvimbo a sports guru, especially when it comes to LeBron and the Lakers – just don’t dare bring up anything Manchester United. While Kupakwashe is always up for a lively chat about why Nene Leakes should not be allowed back on the Real Housewives of Atlanta or why Gymshark rocks the best gym tights.

Ruvimbo and Kupakwashe cultivated a friendship firmly rooted in mutual encouragement and a shared dedication to bringing out the best in each other. A friendship that started from the day they met in 2017. Every step of the way, they have made it their mission to get there together. From sharing academic pursuits to securing their first professional roles simultaneously, obtaining chartered accountant qualifications, and achieving Australian permanent residency, they have charted an extraordinary journey together.

If you were to ask Ruvimbo, she would confidently say that she knew from the very first moment they laid eyes on each other (the eternal optimist in the relationship). On the flip side, Kupakwashe, perhaps, still finds it surreal that someone as exceptional as Ruvimbo is soon to be his wife.

Their wedding is not just a celebration of their remarkable journey thus far; it is a public declaration, in the presence of cherished friends and family, of the grand vision they have always shared for themselves. They stand united, firm in their belief that they are Destined for Greatness.

We're truly honoured to have you celebrate with us; your presence means the world. Can't wait to make unforgettable memories together!” – Ruvimbo and Kupakwashe.
