Every great love story has its beginning, and ours started in 2008 at Long Beach Poly High School. Ryan was a basketball player, and Dominique was a cheerleader. Neither of us could have imagined that the connection we shared back then would one day lead us here.

What started as a friendship quickly deepened into something special. By the fall of 2009, we were inseparable—spending lunch breaks together, cheering on #34 at the games, and going on weekend dates at The Pike. But life, as it often does, had its twists and turns. In 2010, we went our separate ways. Even then, our bond refused to fade. Over the years, through Ryan’s demanding basketball career and Dominique’s unwavering friendship, we remained a part of each other’s lives.

No matter how far life took us, our connection always felt undeniable. As Ryan stepped away from playing and began coaching, the “what ifs” of our story turned into possibilities. We found ourselves drawn together again, this time with hearts ready to embrace what we’d always known: this is how it's supposed to be.

In August 2024, Ryan brought Dominique back to where it all began—Long Beach Poly. Standing on the court where we first met, he asked her the question that had been a lifetime in the making. Through tears, laughter, and a love that had stood the test of time, Dominique said yes. As Ryan reflected on the moment, one phrase played in his mind: “Wherever you are is home for me.” Those words, spoken by Dominique, had shaped everything.

Our journey has been one of friendship, growth, and rediscovery. We’ve built a love that is full of laughter, adventure, and shared dreams. As best friends and soulmates, we are so excited to begin this next chapter of our lives together.
