Our Wedding

During the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ryan signed up for an online dating app hoping to meet the love of his life. At the time, Clare was in PA school and happened to be on the same dating app. One day Clare matched with Ryan, who was waiting for a girl to make the first move. They started chatting about how Ryan was planning to go to nursing school and quickly realized they had a lot in common. Eventually they planned a date at Nicky's Thai Kitchen and Clare talked almost the whole date. Apparently Ryan still felt the date went well and they went to stuff their faces with wings days later - the rest was history. (To this day they regularly stuff their faces with wings.) Ryan liked that Clare is very passionate about her job and Clare liked Ryan's flirty sense of humor and dependability. They eventually took turns supporting each other through grad school and helped each other learn to balance a work/life routine. They both enjoy traveling to visit friends all over the country, exploring new cities and watching medical shows from the comfort of the couch alongside their dog Brady and cat Regi. This past summer during a visit to see Clare's extended family in Canada, Clare and Ryan traveled to Jasper National Park accompanied by her mom and brother. The first full day in the park was quite eventful between Ryan saving a man who fell off a high mountain trail and spotting 12 Grizzly and Black bears. The day ended with a proposal to Clare on Horseshoe Lake. The rest of the trip felt like a huge celebration capped off with a surprise party with friends and family when they got home.

Clare met Rachel on the first day of Kindergarten in 2001 and ever since they have been like sisters. They went to school for 17 years together (Kindergarten through end of college!) and still live together - but the jokes haven't changed since middle school.

Ryan and Chris meet at the lunch table in 8th grade and have been inseparable since. Throughout the years, Chris has pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and has always been willing to help teach me the things that he is most passionate about. Though he lives in Michigan, he is still my closest friend and we always look forward to trips to see each other (and go fishing).

Clare and Corrie became best friends in college after realizing they have a lot in common. They quickly became campus leaders when they started the Chicken Tenders of GCC Facebook page and became hosts of the Lettuce Club. Now they enjoy going back and forth between sunny California and Pittsburgh to visit each other and goof off.

Corrie Tebay

Joey is the 2nd born of the 4 Deemer brothers, and is arguably the most competitive. Our favorite games of late are Catan, Wingspan, Spirit Island, and Angleball (in the summer) and no matter what we play Joey is always playing to win and pushing me to do my best and compete to win.

Clare and Priya's friendship began in college when they lived with Rachel in Room 36. They spent the year watching We're the Millers over 10 times and observing Grove City townies. To this day, the three of them love spending nights watching scary movies and eating Thai feast with Priya's son Julian and husband N8!

Alex (the 3rd Deemer brother) and I are the fishermen of the family, and whether it be for bass, trout, or catfish we always have a great time when we are out by the water. Alex is always encouraging me to step (or pushing me) out of my comfort zone to try new things.

Eric and Clare are old college biology major friends. They had a falling out in college when Eric didn't do any work for their microbiology lab (but Clare still managed to earn them an A). Their friendship has since recovered, and they love watching Titanic in North Lobby.

The final Deemer brother is Sam who will be graduating from NJIT just before the wedding! He is an amazing swimmer (only in the family to go D1) and fiercely loyal to his family and friends. Even though he is the youngest, Sam continues to inspire with his ability to always "go with the flow" and to find the best in every situation.

Natalie and Clare became good friends while they were students at the same PA school. Their favorite pastime is going out to dinner to talk about medicine and life, and they have a hard time turning off the medicine part sometimes... but if someone mentions Natalie's cats or Clare's corgi they will gladly switch the topic!

Keegan and Ryan met on the swim team at Ashland University and were instant best friends. Though they only lived together for one semester, they were always in each others rooms watching the office, playing board games or napping after an exhausting practice. Keegan loves to prank and joke around with a personality that draws people in.
