Having several mutual friends and growing up only a town away from each other, we finally had the pleasure of crossing paths. Although we met through a mutual friend, the day we met felt as though we have known each other for our entire lives. We met April 17, 2021 and officially started dating May 10, 2021.

In the Fall of 2021, we both traveled to Maine to further our careers. We lived in a haunted apartment, worked long hours whether it was glued to multiple books, or worked outside in the harsh Maine winters. Our time in Maine helped us grow closer through the hardships. We turned something not so great into a better experience for both of us!

Ryan went on his last Sea-term and with this separation we navigated ways around the distance and continued to grow as a couple. Through endless FaceTime calls staying up at all hours of the night just for 10 minutes of each other’s time we connected more than we could’ve imagined being oceans apart.

After another one of their memorable trips Ryan took Sam to the Portland Head Light, in Portland, Maine. While walking along the ocean bluffs at sunset, Ryan asked Sam to spend her life along side him.
