Ryan and Josie met for the first time over a FaceTime call between Abby and Jackson Harms. Ryan was visiting his friend Jackson at his fraternity when Jackson mentioned that his girlfriend Abby had a younger sister that was also about to start her freshman year at Kansas State University. Piqued with interest, Ryan asked Jackson for Josie's phone number and the following message occurred later that evening, ultimately commencing what would turn into a beautiful relationship.

After weeks of exciting dates, coupled with fun parties celebrating the beginning of their college years, Ryan decided that he wanted to take things to the next level with Josie. So he did! On September 14th, 2017, Ryan brought Josie on a surprise date to Manhattan's "Top of the World," in which he gave her a few white carnations and asked her to be his girlfriend. She said yes!

Their next few years in Manhattan were filled with many wonderful memories with friends, family, and each other. As those years went along, Josie and Ryan's feelings for each other continued to grow deeper and their relationship became increasingly serious. It didn't take long for them to recognize that they were in love.

After college, Josie and Ryan decided to continue their educations in order to pursue their desired career choice. Josie began her nursing program at the University of Kansas School of Nursing and moved to Kansas City in 2020. Ryan began his law program the following year at Washburn University School of Law and moved to Topeka in 2021. This would begin their journey through the world of long-distance dating, which they are both extremely grateful to have recently finished!

Ryan would then realize just how in love with Josie he really was. It wouldn't take him long to decide that he wished to spend the rest of his life with her. On July 29th, 2023, at the beautiful Loose Park in Kansas City, Ryan asked Josie to marry him. Again, she said yes! Josie and Ryan were able to celebrate their engagement surrounded by friends and family, filling the day with love and joy. A truly special occasion!
