Our Story

Our Story

It all started with two truths and a lie, a healthy dose of skepticism, and absolutely zero expectations. I never planned to meet my soulmate on Hinge—in fact, I didn’t even believe in soulmates. But as I’ve learned, God can use anyone and anything… even a dating app.

I had just finished my first year of dental school when my lab partners convinced me to try Hinge for one week. Just one. I entered all my “preferences”—Christian, active, 6’3 (kidding… kind of—but my mom sure is thrilled that her future grandkids now have a chance).

Ryan was my very first match. He guessed my lie (that I’m a good pickleball player—false, though I have beaten him a few times), and offered to teach me some “tips and tricks” (ha!). Everyone told me to give him a chance, but I had my doubts—mainly because of his profile photo: proudly standing next to his motorcycle. I’m pleased to report that two months into dating, he sold the motorcycle. (He still has a drum set, if anyone’s interested…)

I have to admit, I’m grateful for that motorcycle—it’s what inspired him to join Hinge in the first place. Just a guy showing off his new bike… neither of us had any idea what God had in store.

Our first date was pickleball at Dove Park, and that’s when I met a man who looked like kindness and felt like home. From that moment, I knew my world had changed. The more we talked, the more evident it became that God had written this story—each moment knit together so intentionally, as if we were made with the other in mind.

I had waited patiently and prayerfully for him, and he is far better than anything I could have dreamed. God is so, so good—and this past year has been full of joy, growth, and deep gratitude. We cannot wait to see what He has in store for us next—together.

So it’s only fitting that we end how we started:

Two truths and a lie

1. We’re so excited to celebrate with you in Colleyville, TX on December 21st.

2. It’s going to be a celebration of God’s goodness in our lives.

3. Ryan is keeping his drum set.
