This isn’t a scary story but it might have included a ghost. It all began with the comment “nice hat” on Melissa’s dating profile, and with that Ryan had found a Bruins fan in Denver. They quickly discovered that they grow up 35 minutes apart in Massachusetts. As Carol says, “Melissa had to go all the way to Denver to find a man from Shrewsbury."&nbsp; Over two years of dating, there have been lots of adventures and even more trips to Three Dogs Tavern.&nbsp;2023 brought many ski trips, meeting the parents, Mexico, and their first holiday with the extended family. Their biggest adventure was yet to come when Melissa adopted a dog and Ryan became a dog dad before he was ready. (Don't worry, Wally says he's turned out to be an amazing dad anyway). In 2024, Ryan moved in with Melissa and her roommate, Kristina, and the rest of the zoo (Wally and Darcy, Kristina's cat). This was quite the transition for Ryan. He quickly became Kristina's Taco Bell and Wii partner, Wally’s bedtime buddy and Darcy’s and Melissa’s favorite human.&nbsp;The rest of 2024 brought camping, a trip home to the cape and Maine, and lots of good times with friends. Steamboat had been their place since their first ski trip together back in 2023. While Melissa thought it was a disastrous time with a few falls on the mountain, a spilled beer and parking issues, Ryan had a great time. Looking back, that was when they both realized this relationship could really mean something. So it was not surprising that this past October 13, on Rabbit Ears Pass in Steamboat, Ryan asked Melissa to marry him. And now they could not be more excited for you to be a part of their story as they marry each other this September 20th back in New England!

To reserve as part of our wedding block please call The Margate Resort at (603) 524-5210 and mention that you are booking as a part of the Mearn-McWeeney wedding. It is a two night minimum for the wedding block but you can book in any of the buildings on the Margate property. Below is a map of the Margate Resort.
