Our Wedding

A little bit about us!   How did you first meet? On Hinge!   Who made the first move? How? Ryan sent a like on Grace's Hinge profile first. After we matched and talked for a few days, he asked Grace to get ice cream at Jeni's!   What was your most memorable date? On the 4th of July in 2022, we decided we were going to take tubes and float down the Harpeth River. Grace had it all planned out to where we would walk a half mile, put in the tubes, and float to the place the car was parked. Well, we got a late start and the sun was about to start setting. About 45 minutes into enjoying our float, we checked the map and realized we were less than a mile in to a 4 mile float and the sun was going to set in 1 hour. We called an audible and took our floats out in someone's backyard and walked almost 2 miles back to car while the sun was disappearing. Ryan was extremely patient and gracious the whole trip and we stayed in high spirits! (Ryan more than Grace). It was quite the adventure and also the first time we said I love you.   What's your favorite activity together? Lake days and Pickleball! #FoilFiancés   What's the most memorable trip you have taken together? We have been so lucky to travel a lot together! Some of our favorite trips have been to Colorado to visit Grace's brother, going to Disney with Ryan's parents and visiting 4 parks in 2 days, and going to Dollywood and hiking in the rain with Grace's family.   The dorkiest thing about us is... Just about everything. But especially swapping puns.

Chandler is my super amazing sister-in-law! When I met her for the first time 9 years ago, the first thing she said to me was “My middle name is Grace too! We are going to be best friends!” And since that weekend when she chose to share a room with me at the lake, she’s been my bestie and sister ever since. What I love most about Chandler is how she is genuinely interested in other people and understands them in such a meaningful way. Once she meets, you, she just gets you. You can be truthful about what you are dealing with and she will always meet you where you are at in such a gracious way.

Emily is one of my longest friendships! We met in the freshman band at Franklin High School. I knew eight people in my new class of over 350+. And Emily sought me out and always made me feel like I had a place during a time where I felt lost in the crowd. She is such a consistent friend in my life. What I love most about Emily is her zest for life. She is always doing something new and exciting and does an amazing job staying intentional with her people in the process.

Erin was my amazing, lovely roommate for four years full of late night chats, dance parties, and bedtime zoomies. She may or may not possess far too many embarrassing dance videos we made throughout the years. It all started with us admitting we had a “friend crush” on each other Freshman year of college and deciding to get dinner together in the caf. You’ll recognize Erin at the wedding as the girl absolutely crushing it on the dance floor. What I love most about Erin is her warm hospitality and the way she celebrates the people around her so well. She doesn’t know a stranger and makes everyone feel welcome!

Hannah and I met at Lipscomb and were in the social work program together! Fun fact: When Hannah and I met freshman year, we had lunch together several times in the caf and would walk to class together after. It was a couple weeks in and couldn’t remember her name and it was far too late to be asking. It’s ok because Hannah says she doesn’t really remembers those lunches anyways. But, here we are today in a thriving friendship. My favorite thing about Hannah is how she can go from ridiculously silly to deeply serious in a matter of seconds. She is down to talk about the grittiness of life and speak encouragement in one sentence and then will say something in a weird voice the next!

Katie and I met the first week of college! I thought (and still think) Katie is one of the coolest people ever. After a few days of hanging out, she looked at me and said “I’m feeling this. Are you feeling this?” and that was that! Later freshman year we were talking about who might be in our weddings one day and we both decided we would obviously be in each other’s weddings. I’m so glad to say that our vision is coming true! What I love most about Katie is the way that she champions her people and causes. She is fiercely loyal, always the number one cheerleader of her friends, and deeply passionate about the things that matter to her!

Lizzy and I met freshman year and became close friends after we studied abroad together sophomore year of college. She is someone I want to be like when I grow up. From 3+ hour dinners every week in college to, to trying to start a “You’ve been boo’d” trend on campus, to sleepovers at her apartment, and being roommates for 2 years, Lizzy has been such a consistent friend and keeps life so fun. What I love most about Lizzy is her infectious joy that radiates to everyone she comes in contact with. She is always ready to help with any project and brings the most positive encouraging spirit to every conversation and everything she does. (Also she’s a killer landlord)

8th grade-post dodgeball championship

Averaged 24 points per game and 6 assists per game in CHVL MVP runner-up season. Notched all-state honorable mention status after leading the team to an impressive 13-8 season. Current assistant finance manager & sales manager at Metro Ford in Albany, NY, where they’re still looking for a deal they can’t beat.

Jonny

A recent graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Michael is a civil engineer practicing in upstate New York. Michael “unofficially” claims to have gained his engineering prowess through years of Minecraft with the groom. He also is responsible for breaking the groom’s scaphoid in 8th grade gym class.

Experienced Senior Financial Analyst with a demonstrated history of working in investment management and healthcare industries. Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Communication, Financial Analysis, Leadership, and Financial Reporting. Strong finance professional with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Lipscomb University. Current MBA candidate at the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business.

Taylor

Pros: Statistically the most trustworthy person in this wedding based on his profession (https://www.newsweek.com/americas-15-most-least-trusted-professions-1580107). Willing to move anywhere for 13 weeks. Has collected all infinity stones (hospitals), earning him the title of “Thanos of Nashville nursing.” Backbone to the American healthcare system. Recent homeowner. Cons: Philadelphia sports fan (go Birds- him, somewhere)

Probably ran 15 miles and scaled the Batman building this morning before you even considered getting out of bed. Skis UP mountains for personal entertainment. Employee X at Uber. Worked remote before it was cool. AI is afraid that he might take its job.

Spencer

Established GIS analyst who can tell you if your house is in a floodplain. If it is in a floodplain, he can give you some great  proactive water sports lessons. He can do a really good Yoda impression and would love it if you went up and asked him to do it repeatedly. First-time father, long-time dad joke deliverer.

If you want to walk or take a cheap Uber to the venue! About 10-15 minutes from downtown Nashville. Unfortunately, not a lot of great hotel options in East Nashville. There will be more AirBnBs in this area, though.

Ryan and Grace have taken many walks around bicentennial park with Oakley! There are great views of the state capitol, a great farmer’s market with fun places to eat, and lots of Tennessee history! 

Hang Out At Bicentennial Park

Ryan loves watching a Sounds game and enjoying the stadium environment! Grab meal beforehand in Germantown which has some awesome restaurants and bars.

Catch a Nashville Sounds Game! 

These are botanical gardens a little ways outside of Nashville. There are usually some fun food trucks or you can bring a picnic!

Visit Cheekwood!

Franklin is where Grace grew up! It's a cute little town with lots of boutiques, local stores, food options, and more! It is about 30 minutes from Nashville

Visit Downtown Franklin! 

Radnor is a beautiful little oasis in Nashville. They have a great loop trail around the lake if you want to take a little walk or some hillier trails if you want some adventure! FYI dogs are only welcome on part of the trail.
