Ryan is an entertainment journalist and a human encyclopedia of all things television. Kacy is a pediatric nurse who never distinguished between TV shows and movies before she met Ryan.

Clearly, their relationship was doomed.

But against the odds, and amid a global pandemic, they went the distance.

Their love story began like so many others do: when Kacy swiped right on Ryan. After messaging for a day, Ryan suggested that they get to know each other over FaceTime. Kacy was hesitant but ultimately agreed, and the pair spent the next four days FaceTiming into the wee hours of the night, burning through all the awkward first-date questions.

Then on night five, they met for their first official date in Midtown. It was the best (and last) first date either of them would ever have.

Four months later, Kacy and Ryan's romance was put to the ultimate test when a certain pandemic — coronavirus, maybe you've heard of it? — accelerated their relationship. They'd decided to isolate together for the duration of the pandemic. After all, it'd be over in a matter of weeks... right? (Right??) But it soon became apparent that COVID-19 would be with us for the foreseeable future.

Thankfully, Ryan and Kacy loved living together — even while cooped up in Ryan's one-room apartment. So she never left.

A year later, they'd finally outgrown Ryan's studio and upgraded to a junior four. And a month after their big move, they picked out Kacy's engagement ring. (Kacy hates surprises.) But Ryan made her wait to put it on — he still wanted to propose. He waited a full three full weeks before he got down on one knee and popped the question. Eighteen months later, the happy couple are excited to be surrounded by their family and friends as they become husband and wife.
