Scott and Ryan's story begins way back in 2006 where they met at Camden County College. Though they sat next to each other in English 101 (Scott noticed Ryan's scathing comments on a classmates paper...nothing ever changes, does it?) it wouldn't be until the following semester that they would finally connect.


They had the same break before English 102, and would hang out together every day, eating chicken fingers and swapping mixed CDs that Scott would title, Ryan's Rant and Rave Mix (see, nothing ever changes!). They introduced each other to some of their favorite bands, and bonded over early aughts pop punk and emo hits. When they finally decided to take their friendship beyond the campus, they attended their first concert together: New Found Glory and Senses Fail at the Electric Factory. When they were making plans to go to the next show, they decided to call it a date and the rest is history.

In December 2023 Scott presented Ryan with an advent calendar he called, Seven Days of Ryan. Each day she opened up a canister to discover a different present, leading up to Christmas Day. Day 1 started off with a manicure appointment (causing her to freak out, and all of her proposal alarm bells to start ringing), and each day followed with something special. On Day 5, in the midst of making Christmas cookies, she opened her gift to discover her ring!
