Our Wedding

A beautiful girl sits behind him in AP English He doesn’t take a shot for fear it’ll miss A year later in a different class It is actually the beautiful girl who asks Five glorious wonderful months it has been Now they fear that they won’t see each other again Because now the 6 weeks of basic training have come But our lovers have promised their bond shall not be undone Every single day letters are written Even the postman can tell they are smitten At the end of 6 weeks our lovers are reunited Their bond standing unbroken and defiant When COVID strikes and locks us all down The boy and the girl are blessed to once again share the same town Spending every day together having private adventure and making family ties stronger Cinnamon buns are delicious, oh how we wish those days were longer Tragedy struck and the boy lost his ma Pain and suffering has never felt so raw Through it all the girl was there helping so much always trying Even though she too was crying That ring that wrapped around that wonderful woman’s fingers It now rests on the hand of the beautiful girl as if her love still lingers Love is eternal With the right person it feels special and normal This is the love that Ryhen and Ashford share This one is for you Mr La, GO CHICAGO BEARS Our friends this is the beautiful beginning of a story One that will be filled with love and holy matrimony A love that will survive the hottest summer and coldest winter So please come celebrate on June 23rd at the South Shore Cultural Center!
