On November 20, 2021 Ryker and Shannon met at a homeschool dance at Camelot ballroom. After a bad day Shannon was convinced by her family to go to a dance with her sister. At the dance, towards the end of the night, Ryker was dared by his sister Mara to dance with Shannon. After dancing twice they swapped numbers and the rest is history!

On Sunday May 26, 2024, Ryker decided to take Shannon on a picnic after church. They weren’t expecting to see each other that day, so she wasn’t expecting a thing! They listened to music and danced after eating. Shannon set her phone up to take a picture together (putting it on record to capture it all and go back for screenshots.) She walked back to Ryker giving him a hug and getting ready to smile at the camera when he pulled the ring from his pocket and asked the question. The answer was an obvious “yes!”
