Use the Spot Hero app to find cheap daily parking or take the bus line. Anywhere close to Quincy Market or The North End or Boston Commons would be good. Boston is actually quite walkable, but wear comfy shoes! Walk The Freedom Trail to explore historic sites like Boston Common (that’s where I would start the trail), Paul Revere’s House, the Old North Church, King’s Chapel, Boston Massacre, and Beacon Hill (there’s a cute book/coffee shop here but reservations are recommended). There are two rows of red bricks in the sidewalk. That’s the trail! It makes a big loop. When you see a big medallion in the sidewalk, you’re at a historic site. You’ll see the whole city this way! I think there are some free audio tours on apps you could check out.
Walk through Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. Grab a drink at Sam Adams Brewery. Spend time in the Italian North End. Mike’s Pastry for a cannoli. It’s cash only! Many locals prefer cannolis at Modern Pastry, but that’s up to you! I like them both. Some top restaurants in the North End: Mamma Maria’s, Carmelina’s, Parla, La Famiglia Giorgios Restaurant, and Bacco Ristorante & Bar. Take the Duck Boat Tour leaving from the Boston Aquarium at 4:00 PM. Arrive about 15 min early to check in and board! Go to Newbury Street and shop the MANY funky boutiques. There are fun restaurants and bars on Newbury too. You can also take The T (subway) for something like $2.40 a ride.
There are some cool museums in Boston. You can tour Harvard. There’s a bunch of other stuff going on…always. There’s China Town, funky cafes, rooftops, a bar on a floating old ship. It goes on and on. Eating can be a little pricey. We’ve found good food and decent prices at Granary Taven in Milk St, but there are smaller shops to grab a bite all over. Citrus & Sat has upscale drinks and tacos on the waterfront. Barrios has fun personalized upscale street tacos. Some trendy bars for unique, pinkies-up drinks (or just a stroll through) are Contessa, Coterie, Long Bar & Terrace (for a view), and Hecate (speakeasy).
