It all began with Sabine's broken phone charger. While texting with Taylor, she casually mentioned it would take a day or two for her Amazon order to arrive with the new charger. Taylor, ever practical and quick-witted, responded with a teasing, “Or you could just buy one from a store.” Cue the lightbulb moment! Sabine decided to make the trip right then and there. As fate would have it, Taylor suggested she try Lowe’s and promised he knew someone who could help her. That someone, of course, turned out to be Taylor himself.Their first in-person meeting sparked something special, and soon after, Taylor and Sabine found themselves on their first official date—a Lou City soccer game. Everything seemed to align perfectly for the budding romance until a spontaneous stop at a playground changed the course of their evening. Sabine, full of adventurous spirit, decided to slide down a fireman’s pole! What she hadn’t accounted for was the lingering rain that made the pole slippery... Unable to find a comfortable grip, she fell a heart-stopping eight feet down onto her ankle.Taylor’s immediate reaction? He carried her to the car without a second thought. The next morning confirmed what they feared: Sabine’s ankle was broken. But what could have been a disastrous start turned into the sweetest chapter. Taylor stepped up as her personal chauffeur, whisking her away to their favorite spots for ice cream and Thai food, ensuring laughter and love filled every detour.

Our EngagementFast forward to Friday, November 8th. Taylor had been carrying around a sparkling secret: the engagement ring. He had planned to propose on Thanksgiving, but found he couldn’t wait any longer. That afternoon, as he finished work, Taylor thought about the ring and decided, “Heck with it, I’m going to propose now!”Upon returning home, Taylor turned on their special song—one they had shared many heartfelt dances to before. He invited Sabine to join him for a dance. Thinking it was just one of his sweet and romantic gestures, she happily obliged. However, as the song came to an end, Taylor dropped to one knee near the very spot where Sabine had helped him dig the foundation of their home over a year earlier. With heartfelt words, he asked her to marry him, and without hesitation, she said, "yes!" Their house, the home he built for them, became the backdrop for the beginning of their forever. Fun fact: Sabine was scheduled to get her nails done the next day. Taylor had even enlisted her sister, Stephanie, to ensure Sabine’s nails would be perfect before the proposal. But Taylor couldn’t wait another moment. So, Sabine got engaged without the French nails. And it was perfect!
