Spend a day kayaking, paddle boarding, or canoeing the water along downtown Austin. Enjoy skyline views in one direction or a more peaceful nature scene the other direction. There are other rental places along the water to choose from as well depending on your location preferences.
One of our favorite chill hangout spots on South Lamar. 30 beers on tap. They have a large deck with a nice view of the Greenbelt, especially at sunset.

The famous bridge where large groups gather to watch the largest urban bat colony of Mexican free-tail bats emerge from under the bridge in the summer evenings. Enjoy views of the Capital Building heading into downtown or spend the day venturing to shops and restaurants along the very popular South Congress Ave (South of the bridge).
A famous local Tex-Mex restaurant. Made from scratch and a vast selection of Margaritas. Gets very busy on the weekends so plan accordingly, they don't do reservations (don't get scared if the wait says 1 hour, it usually goes faster). FYI for the guests from up north- Mild spice level in Texas is usually equivalent to Medium spice level up north.
15-20 minutes north of downtown. An outdoor shopping mall with a large variety of brand-name shops and restaurants.
