In 2023, the tapping of a heart icon on my profile via Hinge lead to this very moment. Initially, we talked for hours on the phone and texting. Talking on the phone, we learned that Quintan was from Mississippi and I was from South Carolina. We learned that our morals, values and beliefs were aligned. We learned unique things about each other and surprisingly we found that our birthdays are a week apart from each other. We learned that we have deep Southern roots and both have a huge family. During this time of connecting I was in South Carolina for vacation and he was in the Dominican Republic for vacation. Crazy thing about that was that I was just in Dominican Republic the week before he was. Our conversations built a great foundation for us. We had love at first conversation. We didn't have our first date until a month after talking on the phone and texting. Our first date was on July 9th, 2023 at Star Cinema Grill where we watched Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Quintan was nervous when he picked me up. Quintan will tell everyone to this day that I ordered a lot of food and didn't eat anything and didn't take the food home either. After, I ordered I was nervous to eat all that food in front of him. But that was then now he knows how much I can eat and knows to let me know when he is finished with his food, so that I can eat the rest of his food. Quintan was determined that I wouldn't call him back after that date due to me not eating my food. I called him that same night after the date and from then on we were with each other almost all the time. During our conversations we always talked about how dating was in grade school and how we had to call on landlines and write notes to show the person you liked them. On July 13th, 2023, Quintan wrote me a note "Will you be my girlfriend?" "Check YES or NO or MAYBE". I checked YES, it felt as if we were back in grade school and shows how playful we both are. On June 5, 2025 after my birthday trip, we went to eat lunch and after Quintan drove to Kay's Jewelry, went inside and came out. Quintan grabbed me out the car and on the side walk he got on his knee expressed his love to me and asked, "Will you marry me?" and I said "YES". Come to find out the initial plans were to propose to me during my birthday weekend in South Carolina, but the ring wasn't shipped in time. This shows that God has his own timing no matter how much we try to plan and Quintan was so ready, excited and anxious to make me his fiancé! We have our own unique story and over the years, we have been blessed to enjoy life, travel, grow as a couple, and to become best friends. We are excited for our journey ahead of us!
