Sabrina and Lucas first met back in 2022 shortly after Lucas had returned from his first overseas deployment. At the time Sabrina had been working at a local bar in San Clemente called OC Tavern where Lucas and his friends seemed to come quite frequently. (figures)


It was the Kentucky Derby weekend and OC Tavern, being a horse racing bar, there was no doubt Lucas would be there with his friends. Of course Lucas and his Marine buddy Spencer were going to be in attendance.


Fast forward through the night Lucas had become more confident one might call it liquid courage and began coming behind the bar to hug Sabrina. Although they had briefly cross paths in the bar Sabrina still really had no idea who Lucas was. But whatever he had been doing seemed to be working. (the typical marine finds a bartender story)


The next day, a sunny California Sunday afternoon Lucas and friends decided to attend their favorite brunch & bottomless mimosas spot Sunset's. After a few bottles of champagne later they then decided to return to the scene of their Saturday bash.


Spencer, Lucas' friend, was dating a waitress from OC Tavern, Sarah, so they frequently stopped in for cheap drinks. Sarah began to mention how Sabrina had become recently single and Lucas' ears began to perk up. Lucas had seen her multiple times while there but always knew she was taken. So when Sarah mentioned it, Lucas figured it was a good time to see if something was there.


Not entirely remembering their previous Kentucky Derby night, Sabrina filled Lucas in on all the Tom Foolery he had committed the night before. Although alarming…the night seemed to have worked in Lucas' favor.

Sabrina and Lucas exchanged numbers and began texting and meeting frequently for their favorite sushi spot Miyako (by the way in San Clemente, if you want amazing sushi!!) and other spontaneous dates.

Lucas began explaining to all his friends that he had met the one and some of them, Spencer included, knew he was serious this time.


Lucas seemed to have his mind made up! On one of their dates, Sabrina asked Lucas to come back to her house for a fire in the backyard. It seemed like the perfect time for Lucas to ask Sabrina to be his girlfriend. That was the first of many resounding Yes' .


Sabrina and Lucas completely fell in love and couldn't seem to spend any time apart. Fast forward to Christmas, which Lucas frequently received time off from the Marine Corps, Lucas had his mind made up. Telling only a select few about plans for Christmas that year.


After a well thought out plan about traditions and a good way to propose. The Mueller family came up with a plan to put a spin on their Christmas Pickle Tradition. For those wondering, The Pickle Tradition is a hidden pickle ornament placed on the Christmas tree and the first person to find it Christmas morning gets to open the first present. After discussing with his brothers and family NOT to find the pickle which has been replaced with the beautiful ring Lucas had bought for Sabrina!


YES! YES! YES!


Shortly after Lucas and Sabrina went to the local court house in the hometown of California and were officially married.


Although they have been married by law since January of 2023, they both always wished to be married in the Catholic Faith through the Sacrament of Matrimony! So join us in a beautiful Happily Ever After party and celebrate the love of two beautiful people in the eyes of the Lord on August 24th, 2024 in sunny California!
