Our Wedding

Our love story began long before we realized it would become what it is today. We first crossed paths when we were younger, working together at Wholesale Sports. At first, our connection was simple, but Sabrina, eager to spend more time with Matt, started adjusting her schedule to always work Friday nights—just to make sure they were on the same shift. About a year later, Sabrina took a chance. She reached out to Matt to see if he might be interested in going on a date. But he turned her down. Wholesale Sports eventually closed its doors and we moved on to different paths, though we’d occasionally catch up, time and distance slowly created a gap between us. Looking back, it was clear we both needed that time to grow into who we were meant to be. Then, one day, out of the blue, Matt reached out to Sabrina. This time, there was no hesitation. He asked her out, and without a second thought, Sabrina said yes. They went to a drive-in movie, and from that night on, everything changed. What started as a first date in May 2019 quickly blossomed into an unbreakable bond, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We truly are best friends—we do everything together. Whether we’re out hunting, fishing, golfing, or traveling, we’re always by each other’s side. Our bond only grew stronger with each passing day, and every adventure we’ve shared has added another layer to the story of us. After a year of dating, we decided to take the next step and move in together. It felt like the natural progression, and being with each other just felt right. Two years later, we took another big leap and bought our first home—our own space where we could begin building the life we’d always dreamed of. Then, after five incredible years together, in our favorite place—Madge Lake—Matt got down on one knee and asked Sabrina to be his forever. Alongside us through all of it was our Chocolate Lab Baylee. She was there for every moment—our early days together, our first year of living in our home, and the beginning of our life with Ollie who joined us when we bought our home. Baylee was not just a dog; she was family. In September 2024, we had to say goodbye to her. Losing Baylee was one of the hardest things we’ve ever gone through. But Ollie, with his goofy personality and unrelenting love, helped us through the grief. As we moved forward as a family, Ollie became the heart of our home, helping us navigate our grief and find joy in the new chapter of our lives together. Looking back, our story has always been written in the stars—timing and fate just took a little while to catch up with us. From those early days at Wholesale Sports to building a life full of love, laughter, and adventure, we know that we’re meant to be together. Our journey is far from over, but one thing’s for sure: we’re in this together, through all of life’s ups and downs. And, in the end, we know that our happily ever after has only just begun.

Duck Mountain Lodge has 11 rooms available to rent. The lodge is located within Duck Mountain Provincial Park, close by the ceremony and reception locations.

Duck Mountain Motel is approximately 15 minutes from the ceremony and reception locations, located in Kamsack SK. *Please note we won't be providing designated travel to this accommodation. There are other closer accommodations to choose where designated travel will be provided*

On April 10 Sask Parks will open the booking for nightly camping reservations. Feel free to bring your camper or tent and enjoy a weekend in nature right at Madge Lake and close to both the reception and ceremony locations! Please visit the website to book. Duck Mountain Provincial Park

We will have designated travel available within Duck Mountain Provincial Park for those staying at Madge Lake Retreats, Duck Mountain Lodge or choosing to stay in the campsites at the park. The information for this will be provided at the reception. We kindly ask that guests refrain from drinking and driving. To ensure everyone stays safe, we encourage you to take advantage of the transportation options we've arranged for the event. Your safety is important to us, and we want everyone to enjoy the celebration responsibly!

For our wedding, we’re asking guests to dress in semi-formal attire. For women, this could mean a knee-length or midi dress, or a chic pantsuit. For men, we suggest a well-fitted suit or a collared shirt with dress trousers (tie optional). Please note, we kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing white, as that’s reserved for the bride     Our ceremony is planned to take place outdoors, surrounded by nature's beauty. However, in the event of inclement weather, we may need to move the ceremony to an indoor location. If this change happens, we will notify all guests as soon as possible through an announcement or other communication methods. The reception will be held at an indoor venue.
