Sam and Sabrina have several mutual friends from different parts of their lives. Sabrina went to high school with many of Sam's college fraternity brothers. The long game of introducing Sam and Sabrina began in 2014, with their friends suggesting they meet one another. This suggestion became more of an urging in early 2015, and the plan finally came together in March.

There are a handful of people who could take credit for the actual introduction, but they give it to Kim Barton that night at The Plant in Moscow, ID. She sparked up a conversation with the two of them, and they hit it off.

Sam asked for Sabrina's phone number that night, but didn't have the chance to reach out to her. There is a bit of a discrepancy here as Sam says he didn't want to misspell her name while entering her number into his phone, but Sabrina swears he forgot her name. Regardless, Sabrina was not surprised when she didn't hear from him the following week. She was disappointed because she thought they had a connection, and he didn't want to seem too eager by texting her right away.

As luck would have it though, they ran into each other at The Corner Club the following week before Sam had had a chance to reach out. That night he asked her to come to a Daisy Dukes and Cowboy Boots party at the Sigma Chi fraternity house the next weekend. She said she was already going with her friend from out of town, Jaquelyn, and that he had two dates now!

The night of the party Sam put his best foot forward. He taught Sabrina to rope a roping dummy, he asked her to swing dance, and to add a lasting impression he played the guitar for her.

They began talking regularly, going on dates, and inviting one another to meet their friends. They made their relationship official in May 2015, and have never looked back!
