Though both Mike and Sadie grew up in Saugus, their paths didn’t cross until the wedding of Katie and Brian Murphy in July 2022. Mike, a close friend of the groom, and Sadie, Katie’s “cousin”, first met that night. When the DJ announced Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” as the final song, Mike seized the moment and asked Sadie to dance. It was the start of something special.

Less than a month later, they went on their first date, quickly bonding over a shared love for travel, Boston sports, and the outdoors. They clicked instantly, and their relationship grew deeper with each adventure they shared. After a year and a half together, they adopted a dog, Tito, and Mike moved in.

In the fall of 2024, during a cozy glamping trip in the woods, Mike (with a little help from Tito) proposed, and Sadie said yes. Now, they’re excited to continue their journey together, surrounded by family, friends, and all the people who brought them to this moment!
