Our Wedding

Connor and I met in 2019 at….you guessed it, band camp! But this isn’t quite where our love story started. We both went to UNK and met very early on in our studies. We were in marching band, the same scholarship program, most of the same classes, and had the same major. We always thought that we would be good friends, but God had other plans.

That One Time At Band Camp…

Freshman year we were the friends that would sit next to each other in classes, go on group runs for coffee at Java Notes, watch “Friends” with our friends, had a handshake, and partied it up on the dance floor at band banquet. We were the friends that had inside jokes, helped each other with homework, and played hangman during the really long meetings we would have for our scholarship program. (Sorry Jen & Julie) We would have late nights studying for Music Theory Fundamentals, or as Dr. Farrell would tell us at 8am, “Welcome to Fun for Mentals!” At this point in our lives, with all the excitement of college and navigating our new world, we were destined to be “just friends.”

“Just Friends”

After a long 2 years of busy life schedules, different relationship paths, and school requirements, we reconnected through another one of our shared classes. We had many late night study dates that fall semester, and realized we had feelings for each other a few months later. We started dating in November of 2022 and the rest is history! We have created a lot of memories in our 2 1/2 years of dating. Together we have celebrated each other’s graduations, my travels abroad, our new jobs, and life’s little moments together.

Meant to Be

After both of our first years of teaching, we decided that we wanted to go on a summer adventure to celebrate. We planned a trip to travel to Florida in July. On our vacation we got to go to Cocoa Beach, explore Universal Studios and Disney Springs, and Connor’s favorite, a golf day in Celebration, Florida. Connor must have thought we needed something to celebrate in Celebration, because that’s where he popped the question! After our morning of golf, we got dressed and wanted to explore the downtown area that evening. As we walked downtown, we found that there were a few walking trails around the lake. We decided to go on the trails before our dinner reservation, and he asked me to marry him surrounded by nature’s beauty. Of course I said yes! On July 17th, 2025 we got engaged, and we can’t wait to start this life together!
