The Wedding Ceremony and Reception will be held at Idlewild Presbyterian Church, or 1750 Union Avenue!
Where do I park and enter?
Parking is on the west side of the church, across Evergreen. There will be signs that indicate the Sanctuary's main entrance (facing Union Ave.) and the side entrance (facing Evergreen) that will be most useful for those that require handicap accomodations.
Will the ceremony be live-streamed?
Our wedding ceremony will be graciously live-streamed by our church to ensure that all members of our community can serve as witnesses to our union. If you are for any reason unable to attend, please join us digitally using the link below.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?
No photography or video recording is permitted during the wedding ceremony. It is the belief of our church and ourselves that this policy will best support a worshipful atmosphere during our ceremony. We ask that all electronic devices be silenced and put away for the duration of the ceremony. This policy does not apply to the reception.
Will we serve alcohol?
Serving alcoholic beverages is inconsistent with the religious nature of our ceremony. Additionally, the reception space does not permit alcoholic beverages of any kind in or around the property. The couple would appreciate no alcohol or tobacco products being brought to their events.
What do I wear?
Great question! For our special day, we're asking all our guests to dress in what's often referred to as "Sunday's Best" or smart casual attire. This means we'd love for you to select an outfit that represents your best, modest attire that you would consider wearing to a church service.
To clarify, "Sunday's Best" is all about looking polished and respectful, embracing modesty and elegance. This could mean a button-down or polo shirt with dress pants, possibly paired with a blazer, or a modest dress or skirt and blouse combination works perfectly. The general idea is to opt for clothes that are neat, tidy, and show a level of formality without being overly extravagant.
Should I bring a jacket?
MAYBE! Even though we'll be deep into Summer weather by the wedding date, the inside of Idlewild is known for having great air conditioning, so it may be a little too chilly for some to be comfortable without something over their shoulders or arms.
Music During the Ceremony
Communal singing is our favorite part of the worship experience! We look forward to lifting our voices together during our ceremony by singing two hymns: "Sweet Sweet Spirit" and "God Beyond All Praising". We will have a cantor, a leading singer, to help keep us all together. Please do not feel pressure to sing perfectly (we surely won't be) but do know your presence and voice only enhances the experience! You will find the song "Sweet Sweet Spirit" in the purple hymnal throughout the pews. "God Beyond All Praising" will be a given as a leaflet with your program. Below we have links to both songs so you can get an idea of what they sound like prior to the ceremony.
