As with most twenty-first century love, our story begins on the internet. The two matched and bantered for a few weeks. Unable to play things cool whatsoever, Con tried a few times to get together. But Sage, as he'd soon learn, was "busy" and "out of town".
Was Con unsuccessful? Yes.
Deterred? No.
The Eastern Conference Finals between the Celtics and Heat was set to tip off the night of May 17th. The city was abuzz (yes, real word) and Con was, too. His heart was set on sharing it with someone special, so he thought he'd try one more time with Sage. To his surprise, Sage agreed!
What Con didn't know was that Sage already had a date planned with someone else that night (she was a busy gal, remember?!), but who could pass up a Boston sports playoff game? She was able to move her dinner date up and then head to the Garden to meet Con for tipoff.
Con did his best "cool guy lean" next to the Bobby Orr statue and couldn't decide between a firm handshake or a polite hug when she arrived. Sage quickly spotted him and went in for the hug--it immediately felt like they had known each other for years.
Over the next few hours, the two shared stories and a family bucket of chicken tenders. Con drove Sage home and the two shared a kiss goodnight. From that moment, it was over for both of them — they were smitten!
