Our Story
Jeffrey and Saige’s love story began in high school, where their connection sparked almost immediately. Though they were drawn to each other, they didn’t rush into a relationship. Life had big plans for them: Jeffrey left to serve his country in the United States military, and Saige stayed behind to finish high school. While Jeffrey was away at A-school, one thing was certain—he couldn’t stop thinking about Saige. Her birthday was approaching, and in a sweet gesture, Jeffrey sent her money for a birthday nail appointment. Saige gratefully accepted, and with his heart pounding, Jeffrey used the moment to ask her to be his girlfriend. Saige, cautious about the distance between them—Jeffrey was stationed all the way in California—replied, “I think I like where we are right now.” Jeffrey, though disheartened, responded with grace: “No worries.” That night, as they both went to bed, Saige couldn’t shake a feeling in her heart. She prayed and thanked God for clarity. The following morning, she texted Jeffrey, “Just kidding, I changed my mind.” From that moment forward, their official relationship began. For four years, they navigated the challenges of long-distance. After completing tech school, Jeffrey served honorably in Jacksonville, Florida, while Saige pursued her bachelor’s degree in education. Despite the miles between them, their bond grew stronger, anchored in trust, love, and faith. Three and a half years into their relationship, during a family vacation, Jeffrey made a life-changing decision. On a sandy beach with waves crashing in the background, he got down on one knee and proposed. Saige, overcome with joy, said “Yes!” With Jeffrey back in Virginia working as a substation electrician and Saige beginning her teaching career, they spent the next year and a half preparing for their wedding day. Now, they eagerly await the beginning of their journey as husband and wife, ready to embrace all that life has in store for them.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Their story is a beautiful testament to these words—a love shaped by patience, kindness, and unwavering faith. Together, they are building a future rooted in love and devotion.
