In 2023, I attended what was The Hill Church until Sam's parents became my new pastors. I was thrilled to have them as my spiritual leaders and grew very close to their family, (except for Sam, who attended a different church at the time). Interestingly, I formed a bond with her entire family before reconnecting with her after a five-year gap.

After her mom courageously asked me to give her daughter a chance, I explained that I was specifically seeking pastors, not— in the moment, I almost slipped and said in-laws, but that's beside the point! Despite my determination not to pursue a relationship at that time, I took a risk.

Sam reached out to me after a family lunch, after I helped her parents clean up the church on a hot June afternoon.

Little did I know, in that moment, my beautiful wife was saying hello to me for the first time. We've come a long way, but I never doubted that she was the one.
