Legend has it that Sam and Danny have known each other for longer than they can remember.

Flashback to 1997-ish -

Lis and Sam moved into a beautiful Oceanside home, a dream location within a picture-perfect gated community teeming with families and kids playing outside. Settling in, Sam eventually made a few friends—a huge accomplishment given her lazy eye and big overbite, which made her feel awkward. With an eye-patch and headgear, she became quite the introvert, preferring to roller skate down the sidewalk collecting bugs.

Enter Danny—one of the cool neighborhood kids. The boys in the neighborhood dominated the streets on their bicycles, taking no interest in sidewalks, bugs, or quirky girls like Sam.

Do they remember each other? Nope. But that’s probably for the best.

Fast forward to 2014 -

Sam and Danny reconnected through a mutual friend on a trip to Cabo San Lucas...... and they stayed at Cascadas. That is a really funny story, actually.

Awkward skip to 2017 -

The real start of Sam and Danny’s journey. It began with a reply to a Snapchat story, leading to a DM on LinkedIn. Sam was intrigued by Danny's outgoing personality and busy social schedule. Danny was intrigued by Sam's ability to connect and her mysterious job in a laboratory. They started dating, moved in together, rescued two cats, and became inseparable. Their foundation was strong, but it wasn't long before their personality differences began to loom overhead. An introvert and extrovert building a life together meant that the traits which originally lit the spark between them were the same traits now causing anxiety. How ironic!

As Sam and Danny navigated through life together, they discovered that those traits causing stress were actually each other's strengths, and that they could probably learn a thing or two from each other...

Currently, in 2024 -

Sam and Danny live in Oceanside and both love spending time at home with their cats. At the same time, they love exploring and traveling the world together, but Sam's anxiety requires that they are seated together on the airplanes... Baby steps!

The moral of the story?

Don't ever forget what lit the spark.

Sam's favorite traits in Danny are his radiating positivity and ability to love everyone around him. Danny's favorite traits in Sam are her tenaciousness and ability to make him feel like he is the only one in the room.
