There were many wrong swipes and bad dates before they finally swiped right. Mike and Sam met on Hinge. It was a miracle they hadn’t met sooner with all the mutual friends they had. Mike did what he could to try and scare Sam off from even giving a first date a chance. There were many texts and snap chats exchanged, and the day Mike sent a picture of his 4th of July handlebar mustache was almost the end of what hadn’t even started!

After a few encouraging words from Sam’s coworkers, a case net search to ensure he wasn’t a murderer and a few self pep talks she agreed to a date. Westport Social was the chosen location so that Sam could kick Mike’s ass in a few games and awkward first date conversations could be kept to a minimum.

When he finally beat her at everything but darts it was time to head home. But instead of heading home they drove around for an hour or more just talking. No awkwardness, no nerves, just good conversation and not wanting the night to end. It was then they both knew this wasn’t a one and done date.

They spent every single day with each other from that night forward, moved in together after two months of dating, Everyone thought they were crazy, but look at them now!

The rest is history. Thank god he was so much more than that handlebar mustache!
