Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes! There is a sidewalk leading to the chapel from the parking lot. The front of the venue has a ramp to enter as well, but guests will be entering the reception from the back after the ceremony!
Are children welcome?
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event. We appreciate you making arrangements in advance and leaving the kids at home unless told otherwise by the bride and groom.
Can I bring a date?
We have a lot of family and friends joining us on our special day! To keep our guest count under the venue's capacity, we ask that dates be limited to spouses or serious life partners unless told otherwise by the bride and groom.
What should I wear?
We politely ask guests to wear formal attire; "but, what does that mean??" Basically, we suggest the ladies wear dresses (we are not picky about length, just no white or red please!) or slacks. Dillard's has great options, but Target and online stores are definitely more cost efficient and have super cute stuff. For shoes, I would suggest heels, flats, or sandals. The stores I listed have cute options for those as well (I personally love DSW for shoes). For the men, we suggest suits or slacks and button-down dress shirts (ties are optional and it will probably be too hot for jackets!) and dress shoes. If you need inspiration or need help picking out an outfit, please let us know!!:)
What will the wedding party be wearing?
The bridesmaids will be wearing dusty blue, chaffon, floor length dresses. The groomsmen will be wearing gray tuxes.
Can I take pictures?
We will be having an “unplugged” ceremony, meaning we politely ask our guests not to be on their phones, including taking pictures. We have a photographer and videographer that will be taking professional pictures that we can send out later! During the reception, we ask that during our first dance, bouquet toss, cake cutting, and other reception activities that there be no phones out as well. Again, we can send out photos/video later! Throughout the night while you’re dancing and having fun, of course take pictures/videos!! We will be having a photo booth for you to take physical pictures home as well to remember the wonderful night:)
Will the ceremony/reception be inside or outside?
Inside! The ceremony will be in a cute, little chapel in the back of the venue property. The reception will be literally 10 feet away in the main venue building! There is a lovely courtyard area as well between the ceremony and reception areas if anyone wants to step outside or hang out there.
What's for dinner?
We have Texas Catering coming with Italian food! It will be buffet style, and you can make your food selections in your RSVP.
What will the weather be like?
June in Texas is usually pretty hot! We are hoping that it won't be miserable, but depending on the forecast, it could possibly be 70...with Texas, it is hard to predict! The wedding will be inside mainly with an outside courtyard area, so weather should not be a problem regardless.
Where is Valley View?
It is between Denton and Gainesville. It is about 50 minutes north from our apartment in Plano, TX.
FYI
The venue has a few cows/longhorns in the front of the property. For all the Aggies and Sooners, please don't saw off their horns or flip them upside down haha!
Is there a registry?
Yes! We have registered on numerous websites that will be accessible to you on this website. We will be adding more items as the wedding day approaches! We also have funds to contribute towards such as a honeymoon fund.
Will there be Lego decor?
As many of you know, Cody is a Lego connoisseur! We also love the Minions and Squishmallows:) We are hoping to incorporate our interests in our wedding decor, but specifics are TBD.
