Welcome cocktails and s'mores on Friday night are outside, and we will likely have temperatures in the low 60s. We are planning for it to be classy yet cozy.
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors on a grassy knoll. Please prepare for a walk up a grassy hill when choosing footwear. (Worst case scenario, we will have flip flops).
Attire for the reception is jacket and tie. The vision is "elegant garden party" The barn where the reception will be held has heating and air conditioning. Expect temperatures outside to be in the 70s during the day and in the low 60s at night.
What time will the shuttle bus be leaving?
On Saturday, shuttles will leave from Fairfield Inn (the Mariott in Great Barrington) at 4:30pm. They will depart from Old Inn on the Green at 5:00 pm.
At the end of the night, there will be 3 options for return shuttles. The first will depart from Gedney at 10:00pm. the second will leave at 10:45, and the last will leave at midnight.
Where should we stay?
We have blocks of rooms reserved in two locations. One is the Old Inn on the Green, which is a quarter mile from our venue. We have reserved the entire inn, so a two night minimum is required and the website says they are fully booked. If you would like to stay there, please call (413) 229-7924 and tell them you are with the Galowitz / Ostrow wedding.
We have also secured a discounted rate for a block of rooms at the Fairfield Inn & Suites (a Marriott property) in Great Barrington, about 20 minutes drive west of the venue. In order to get the discounted rate, a two night stay is required. If you want to stay one night, it is the regular rate. Please use the link we provided in the "Travel" section to reserve rooms with the discount.
On the day of the wedding, we will be providing a round trip shuttle bus that stops at both of these locations.
What airports are nearby?
Bradley International Airport (BLD) in Hartford, CT is the best option. It is only about an hour away from the venue. Albany International Airport (ALB) is about an hour and 20 minutes away. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is about two hours and 30 minutes away.
If I drive, is there parking at the venue?
Technically, yes. There is a small parking lot. HOWEVER, we are encouraging everyone to take the shuttle busses on the day of the wedding. The drive back to Great Barrington is unlit and treacherous in the dark. We would like everyone to enjoy themselves and get home safely. Additionally, New Marlborough is a tiny town, with a police officer who takes special interest in the only large event in town. If you are staying farther out, please consider still parking at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Great Barrington and taking the shuttle bus from there to the venue.
