The Wedding Saturday, February 26th, 2022 Attire: Formal attire for ceremony and reception. The Groom and select Groomsmen will be wearing their Air Force Mess Dress and ask all active-duty and retired military guests to wear their formal military attire as well. The Ceremony 2:00 pm Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist 120 Broad St, Charleston, SC 29401 The Reception Lowndes Grove 266 St Margaret St, Charleston, SC 29403 Following the ceremony, please join us at Lowndes Grove for cocktails starting at 5:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Sam and John respectfully request that all guests honor the sanctity of the wedding ceremony by refraining from taking photographs in the Cathedral.

Travel

Where the Civil War began. Decades of growing strife between North and South erupted in civil war on April 12, 1861, when Confederate artillery opened fire on this Federal fort in Charleston Harbor. Fort Sumter surrendered 34 hours later. Union forces would try for nearly four years to take it back.

Joe Riley Waterfront Park

Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived the centuries and witnessed the history of our nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. It is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, and the oldest public gardens in America, opening its doors to visitors in 1870 to view the thousands of beautiful flowers and plants in its famous gardens.
