Our love story started in our senior year of high school, in 2016. We did not attend the same school- instead, we had worked together for more than two years. When senior year arrived, David knew I had been walking to work. Since we were on the same schedule, his kind and caring soul offered to drive me to work. On the ride to work, he stated his hair was a mess. My response? "You don't have to look perfect all of the time". After this moment, the rest was history. David and I continued on a journey together. We experienced prom, high school graduation, death, career changes, undergraduate and graduate degrees, various moves, long-distance, becoming Catholic, and beloved animals joined our small clan. I knew instantly that this was the man I wanted to be my husband, a future father. Six years later, David and I were at the Indianapolis Zoo Christmas Festival of Lights. For those that know us, Christmas has always been and continues to be my favorite time of year- Even if it means decorating in October! At the zoo, we saw the most beautiful Christmas lights and some not-so-active animals. After circling the zoo three times, our fingers freezing because he would not put his hand in his pocket, he proposed in front of this beautiful waterfall, with lights surrounding us. Our love story has not come without challenges- however, it has made us stronger and prepared for our future together as Mr. and Mrs. Schaeper.
