Our Story

We Found Love at a Waffle House

As many of you may know, Chase and Sam met one Friday night at a Waffle House in Dallas, TX on June 16th, 2018. After hitting it off at Waffle House that night, the two hung out in Dallas the next day and slowly grew to know each other and built their relationship. They learned about how big of sports fans they both were and their love for food. Sam sadly had to go back to College Station that Sunday as she was attending Texas A&M at that time. Chase is a HUGE UT fan and for those of you who dont know, Aggies and Longhorns have a huge rivalry, so for him to start liking this Aggie girl was crazy. They then spent July taking turns going back and forth from Dallas and College Station until Sam had to go on a study abroad trip to New Zealand for a month. Chase stuck it out with the 19-hour time difference to talk to this girl as much as he possibly could. When Sam got back to America, she immediately left Texas to go to New York for 2 weeks. Once she finally got back to Texas, Chase knew he needed to swoop in and ask this girl out before she would leave again. On August 24th, 2018 Chase took Sam on a date to Maddens in Bryan, Tx (sadly closed down now) where he asked her to be his girlfriend and Sam of course said yes.

The two then began their long-term relationship, spending the weekends seeing each other. Chase would come down to College Station and they would go to Aggie football games and hang out with Sams friends at Northgate (Chase mustve really liked Sam enough to attend A&M football games with her). Sam would make to drive up to Dallas and they would eat at all of Chases favorite spots and hang out by the pool and hang out with Chases friends. We spent 2 years doing weekend trips with the occasional seeing each other longer over holiday breaks up until Sam graduated from Texas A&M in 2020 then the world shut down with Covid and Sam got to move in with Chase for a few weeks. But then Sam had to go back to College Station for Grad School, so it was back to weekend trips for 2 more years. Chase bought a house in 2021 then Sam graduated from PTA school in 2022. Sam got a job up in Dallas and moved in with Chase and our long-distance relationship of 4 years was done!

Now that Sam was done with school (FINALLY) and living with Chase, they had so much more free time with each other. Weve been able to travel to New York, Colorado, Costa Rica, Mexico, Las Vegas, and many other places. We love trying new food places, playing sand volleyball, having game nights with our friends, and finally getting to spend quality time with each other after all those years of long-distance. We also love channeling our passion for sports and have been able to attend our favorite sports teams games together: Mavs, Stars, NY Islanders, Cowboys, Broncos and yes, Chase was finally able to get Sam to a Longhorn football game. Our relationship also survived the 2023 ALCS where the Rangers (Chases team) defeated the Astros (Sams team). What we love more than anything is playing and snuggling with our dog Colt.

On February 16, 2024, Sam and Chase went to dinner with some friends. Sam thought it was to celebrate another couple who just got engaged, but Chase had other plans. Before dinner we were all walking around then Chase took a picture with all his buddies in front of a fountain (this was all a part of the plan as Chase hates taking pictures, and knew Sam would ask to take a picture) Sam made a comment about Chase taking a picture to which Chase then asked Sam if she also wanted a picture with him (the plan was perfect). As the two were taking a picture, Chase dropped down to one knee and proposed.

We hope you will be able to join us and celebrate with us on our most important date yet April 12, 2025, as we become husband and wife :)
