Michael reached out to Samantha first, but Samantha didn't respond but a few months later Samantha sent a text to Michael, and they hit it off from there.

Their first date was at the movie theater in Crystal Lake, IL to watch I Love You Phillip Morris.

Samantha went over to Michael's house where they were having a small party to hang out a bit.

March 30, 2009, Michael and Samantha went on a double date with Michael's sister. They went mudding on the four-wheeler with some friends and then decided to canoe, in which Samantha and Michael's friend never have done and no one told him that until the canoe tipped over in the freezing cold. They then proceeded thereafter to dinner at Geno's East Pizza in Lake Geneva, WI and finished the night with a movie at the theatre. It was funny, Michael was trying to get his sisters date to hold her hand and proceeded to grab Samanthas hand to "show" them how. (It was pretty cute) After that night, it was a love that truly never died. <3
