It was Senior year for Samantha and Sophomore year for Dylan at Drew University in Madison, NJ. After meeting the first night back through mutual friends, Dylan and Samantha's athletic trainer (Jen!) went to Samantha to tell her about the eligible bachelors of the year. One of which was Dylan! Since Dylan was in soccer season and always in the training room, Jen would reach out to Samantha to tell her when to come in for an obviously very casual and not suspicious at all run in. Eventually Jen hints to Dylan that there is a girl that has been in the training room often that he might be interested in. From then on it took 3 months for Dylan to put Samantha's name in his cell phone when he made it official before winter break, 12/11/2014.

8 years later after long drives from Long Island to New Jersey, trips to the beaches, spending time with family and friends, and finally moving in together in Morristown, Dylan was smart enough to decide it was time to pop the question!

3/11/2023 Dylan got Samantha's whole family to Montauk for the weekend as it was allegedly one of the last weekends they could all be together due to busy schedules. He also made sure to talk about how long the drive is from New Jersey to Montauk as per usual. During the morning, Dylan wanted to go for a walk to the beach after breakfast. Confused at this request, Samantha never turns down if Dylan decides to walk for leisure and not because he has to get somewhere or for golf. The only thing was her Dad was asked to go and while he is usually the first one to the beach, he was not as eager to get out the door. After 5 minutes of trying to figure out why he won't come with them, Dylan and Samantha finally started their walk to the beach. With Samantha constantly turning back to see if her parents started walking yet. Once at the beach, it was high tide and Dylan decided to still head onto the beach. Finally seeing Samanthas parents come to the beach, they decided to walk towards them and that is when Dylan dangled a little box in front of Samantha and eventually popping the question! It was an amazing surprise that was later shared with a celebration back at the house with family.

We are so excited to start the next part of our story with our friends and family on 5/11/2024!
