Charlie and Samantha met at work, at a company better left unnamed, but they agree that the best thing they took from that place was each other.

What began as casual hallway hellos turned into sarcastic banter, dark humor, and the occasional good-natured roast of a coworker.

Eventually, Sam grew tired of their endless Slack exchanges that always ended with “see ya tomorrow”, so she made the first move and asked for his number, something he still teases her about to this day.

Their first “date” was a quiet night in. Sam picked the couch spot closest to the door, just in case, but she never needed the escape route. There was no movie, just hours of conversation. It was the start of something real.

They knew early on this was different. For Sam, it was realizing that even grocery runs and cooking dinner felt with him. For Charlie, it was a single look across the office, a moment that reminded him of his grandfather's story about "the poor girl on the hill" he instantly knew he'd marry. Charlie knew that feeling now.

From protecting his beloved 2006 Honda (which Sam claims to enjoy) to the little moments that became their life, they built a love grounded in laughter, patience, and their shared devotion to their dogs, Rosie and Ranger.

On March 28, 2025, Charlie proposed at a remote cabin in Innsbrook, Missouri, with Ranger by their side. He recreated the first meal and got down on one knee… and was so nervous he forgot to actually ask the question in his excitement.

Now, they’re ready to make it official, surrounded by the people they love most.
