It all started with a dating app called bumble - yep we met on an app!

Chris had seven finely crafted pictures on there and a profile that an AI bot would have been proud of and Sam….well Sam had 3 pictures, two of which were the same and the other looked like it had been taken on a camera phone from 1991. 1.3 mega pixels max…….MAX. oh and the content was sparce, a tag line that’s it!

There was chemistry from the off - banter, then Chris went quiet for a week and Sam thought he’s disappeared - oh well…..Se La Vie - then all of a sudden ping!! Life was never the same!

Who would have known from that day until this that we had both chosen our forever person, basically if our personalities matched any better we would be in love with the version of ourselves that we visualised we were - two sides of the same coin - we also made sure to check that we were not related in any way - the similarities in personalities was just too spooky.

Chris loved that Sam also wore her heart on her sleave, like he does, but that thoughtful caring woman that Chris met hooked him from the start, it was love and that’ll cost you - Sam loved that Chris turned up in a nice shiny BMW and he had a cute dog - the kisses were okay as well! not a bad match at all.

There’s been ups there’s been downs, that’s life - that’s what all the people say, but Corey…..will always be in our hearts.

Cut forward a little to the reason this website exists - Chris being all romantic and planning an engagement ‘surprise’ that both Sam and Scarlett thought was for the other…….he tricked them both! He did drag them on an adventure……nearly killed both of them and the dogs - who knew the dogs would meet so many new ‘friends’ on the walk - poor Arlo.

3 hours of walking and the perfect spot……for a pee apparently…..the plan in place was for Chris to get down on bended knee - this being that when he put on a certain jacket - the camera phones were to come out - Scarlett there for Chris to propose to her mum with the ring they had both picked out and Sam there thinking that Chris was going to give Scarlett a promise ring asking her to be his daughter asking if he could have her permission to adopt her.

Scarls spotted Chris and hit her camera first - executing the plan to perfection - Sam was a little slower on the uptake and before she even realised that Chris had a ring box in his hand had already started crying - nothing to do with the eight miles we had just walked and the cliff edge that Sam nearly got dragged off by Arlo…nothing.

Cue tears from everyone and walking around the rest of Ennerdale Lake with a spring in our steps!

Since then there have been job promotions, changes in circumstances and just a good time - spending time doing things we love with our friends and families - you guys!

Who knew life would get so busy - then throw this wedding malarky in the mix and the just kaboom the complexity just went up ten fold! but we can not wait for you to share in our special day and we can’t explain how incredibly grateful to those who have made the effort of joining us in Northumberland to become husband and wife!

Anyway that’s enough about us, now about this wedding we’ve asked you to attend!
