Our Wedding

Asher &amp; Sam both grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They met at their beloved summer camp, Herzl, in 2015. They spent two years dating long distance - while Asher attended Lake Forest College in Illinois and Samantha attended the University of Missouri. In 2017 their circumstances brought them both back home to Minnesota - yay! Shortly after graduating, Samantha met a sad little puppy named Wesley at a puppy yoga class, and suddenly they were a pack of 3. Then, in the early stages of the pandemic, they officially moved in together and bought a home! They've enjoyed many summers of hosting friends on their balcony, walking along the Mississippi River and watching the River Rats, and eating at neighborhood restaurants. One magical day in July, Asher deceived Samantha when she planned a day kayaking on the St. Croix - a favorite summer activity. 15 minutes in, Asher revealed his secrets and got down on one knee, when she least expected it. Spoiler alert, she said yes! On January 12, 2025 Asher and Samantha got married surrounded by immediate family on the beach in Cabo. They can't wait to officially celebrate with loved ones in June!

Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District

We strongly recommend out of town guests stay at one of the two hotels. Both are located in the same block of the Mill District neighborhood of downtown Minneapolis, and are a 10 minute drive from International Market Square. Shuttles will be provided to and from the reception from the Canopy hotel.

We're so glad you're in town to celebrate us; we want to help show you the magic that is Minneapolis in the summer! Breakfast: Walk to Bellecour bakery (try the Swedish bun or blueberry scone!)Morning Walk: Walk from Bellecour down 1st St, turn on 4th Ave and walk down River Road. Explore the many paths underneath Stone Arch Bridge.Lunch: Get a sandwich from Surdyks Cheese Shop (pro-tip, grab some cheese and wine for the next activity)Afternoon: Go to the lakes! Visit Cedar, Isles, or Bde Maka Ska lakes where you can swim, lay on the beach, have a picnic, or rent kayaks/paddleboards. 1. What is the dress code of the reception? The dress code is Cocktail Attire, so think long or short cocktail dresses for women, and slacks, sport coats, or suits for men.2. Will there be transportation provided? Yes, there will be a shuttle for guests from the Canopy hotel to IMS and back.3. Will there be parking at the reception? Yes, there is a large, free parking lot at the venue, with security.4. Are my kids / plus-ones invited? Everyone that is invited in your party will be listed when you RSVP on our website. If we missed someone, please reach out.5. How long will the reception go? Our reception will begin at 5:30 with a cocktail hour, then last until midnight.6. If I'm from out of town, where should I stay? We have two room blocks available at both the Canopy and Moxy hotels downtown. 7. Will there be a ceremony? While the couple officially tied the knot in January, they will be airing their Cabo wedding video after a brief cocktail hour.
