Once upon a time in a quaint little beach town, Matt and Sam crossed paths at Laguna Grill in Brigantine, New Jersey. Matt took a second job in the summer to stay busy and make a little extra money and Sam was working in between semesters at the University of Rhode Island. Their journey from coworkers to lifelong partners was nothing short of a beautiful love story and some may say it was even love at first sight (for Sam at least).


Sam, with her lively spirit and persistence, worked all summer to get Matt’s attention. Matt, a little aloof, was not giving Sam the attention she deserved. Until one night, Matt finally decided to ask her on their first date to play mini golf. The two had a lovely time, despite Matt not allowing her to win. This was Sam’s first glimpse into his competitiveness and little did she know that she was in for a lifetime of serious competition when it came to any type of games. The two became closer through the summer months and as Labor Day approached, Sam went back to college. Despite the distance, their relationship continued to blossom.


As the years rolled by, Sam and Matt remained inseparable, creating memories that they continue to cherish. When Sam graduated college, she moved back to Ventnor and started working as a veterinary technician locally while gaining experience to one day apply to veterinary school. It only took less than a year working in the veterinary field for Matt and Sam to find their one true love, “Paulie Chunks, their FurSon.
Their story continued as Sam was accepted into Veterinary School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2020 and the two bought their first home in efforts to move halfway between school and Matt’s office. They slowly started to make their house a home by completing house projects together and hosting their family and friends. They now take pride in their yearly vegetable and herb garden that they are forced to share with the neighborhood groundhogs.


In December of 2021, Matt decided to make their little family official by proposing to Sam on their favorite hike with Paulie by their side. Through their almost 8 years together, the two have shared continuous laughter, fun, and even the occasional tear (especially for Sam during vet school), but 2024 will bring the best memories of all. We thank you all for sharing in our celebration and we cannot wait to see you on our special day!
